Shabbos Morning Groups:
10:30 am: Torah for Tots: will be run this week in the small shul/library/office led by Rebecca Kalmar
 
Torah for Tots Room for kids age 1-5 only during 10:30 am and the end of davening on Shabbat mornings - Please make every effort to keep this space free of noise and older kids so that the program can proceed uninterrupted. 
 
10:30am: Older kids (age 6 through 4th grade) group: will be run this week in the social hall by Paul Mendelson
We ask that adults take care not to disturb the groups

Proposed Mission Statement: “Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah is an Orthodox synagogue welcoming a diverse Jewish population.  We aim to foster prayer, learning, personal growth, a sense of community and a strong love of the State of Israel In accordance with Torah principles and Jewish law.”
The Executive Committee, Co-Presidents, Ben Karan and Steve Baruch and Rabbi Kalmar invite feedback which will be discussed at the next Executive board meeting. NOTE: Before the Mission Statement becomes official, the Mission Statement must be approved by the full Board of the congregation.
 
Need A Few Good Men - we are putting together our winter minyan commitment schedule and are looking for men to sign up for individual minyanim - morning or evening, out of the 11 weekly weekday minyanim that we have.  Please help the shul keep a timely consistent minyan and help those saying kaddish to have a minyan.   To sign up - you can go to this link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pijO6eC7LdSundAmJGTyvjSdoLmOa9QnZeU3soObCuM/edit?usp=sharing

Cholent Madness Sign Up - If you would like to participate, please speak with Rabbi Kalmar.  We need a volunteer to be the Cholent Czar this year to help organize this year's contest.  Please speak to Rabbi Kalmar if you would consider it.   This year you have another chance at glory and your name on the ASKT Cholent Cup!

Meet our New Fellow: Shayna Herszage. Shayna Herszage is originally from Columbus, Ohio. After spending a year at Midreshet Nishmat in Israel, she is now a Junior at Stern College for Women, studying Neuropsychology and Creative Writing. In her spare time, she loves theatre(musical or otherwise), reading, and exploring New York.
 
Fri., Jan. 24 at 8:00pm: Oneg for girls (5th grade and up) at the home of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Kalmar, Oneg for boys (5th grade and up) at the home of Elana and Akiva Karan

Sun., Jan. 26 at 11:00am: Come to Chai Point for a discussion led by the YU Fellows with the residents of Chai Point and the Jewish Home. Stay for the chance to purchase lunch at the OASIS and chat with our YU fellows.
 
After Shabbat, Jan. 25:  7 pm - High School age (8th and up) with Fellows Motzai Shabbos program - Bowling for Boys, Game Night for Girls, followed by food at ASKT

Leaves can be purchased and inscribed to honor a person, recognize a special occasion or to remember a special loved one. Top leaves in brass: donation of $360 Bottom leaves in bronze: $180. Safety of ASKT - The front door to ASKT is locked at all times for the safety and security of our members, guests and staff. If it is not Shabbat or Yom Tov please push the ring doorbell and someone will answer the door. If it is Shabbat or Yom Tov we have a security guard and an usher who will let you in. If it is Shabbat or Yom Tov and no one is present please use the lower level entrance.
