Mincha: 7:00pm (in-person on the patio) We suggest walking  to this minyan so there is no need to come inside the shul to leave keys. However, if you need to drive we will have a box available to put your keys in which will be brought inside.
We will have outdoor minyanim this week. Fri Night: 7:00 pm Shabbat Morning: 8:30 am Mincha: 2:00 pm   Maariv: Saturday Night: 9:30 pm.   

We will continue to send instructions/suggestions for davening at home for those who will still be davening at home.

Since there is minyan one can start Shabbos as early as Plag HaMincha which is at 6:58pm If you want to start Shabbat that early the best is to daven Mincha before 6:58pm and start Shabbat after that.  If you want to do a late Shabbat you can light at regular time and daven mincha before sunset at 8:34pm.

Candle Lighting: 8:16pm
 
Mincha - Ashrei (232) Amidah (234) and Aleinu (252)
 
Kabbalat Shabbat (308) at Home.  Make sure to dress up nice and to sing!!  Pick a nice tune or two for Lechah Dodi (316).
 
We skip Bameh Madlikin (322) and go straight to Maariv (330). (No Barchu is said) We say the paragraph of Vayechulu (346) and then skip the next three paragraphs and say Aleinu (350) and Vayigdal (12)
 
Friday Night Meal – Make sure to sing and give divrei Torah! Shalom Aleichem (354), Aishet Chayil (358), and Kiddush (360) followed by HaMotzi.
 
Shabbat, June 20th – Parshat Sh’lach
We will have an 8:30 am full davening on the patio.
NOTE: We are cancelling the 10:30am laining and Mussaf due to too small a number of people signing up
 
For Those Davening at Home:
Shacharit: daven at 8:30am (Shema should be recited before 9:02am)
Following Shacharit – the parsha of Sh’lach can be read from a Chumash.
Following that, one could read the Haftorah for Sh’lach (Joshua 2:1-24) (1184) Back to the Siddur – You could now say the mi-Shebeirach for the ill (442) and the mi-Shebeirach for Tzahal (444).  Remember to say the first Yekum Purkan (448) only.   Remember to say the prayers for the government and the State of Israel (450).
 
We say Birkat HaChodesh (452) The Molad for Tammuz will be on Sunday, 26 minutes and 13 chalokim after 12 am. Rosh Chodesh Tammuz will be on Monday and Tuesday.  We skip Av HaRachamim and say Ashrei (456) which is followed by the Mussaf Amidah (462).
 
I recommend singing Ein Keilokeinu (476), Aleinu (480), (Anim Zemirot is not recited without a minyan) Shir Shel Yom (488), and Adon Olam (12).
 
Kiddush (492) and Festive Shabbat meal (remember to sing and give divrei torah).
 
There is a widespread custom to study Pirkei Avot Shabbat afternoons until Rosh HaShana – this week is Chapter 4 (556).
 
Mincha: (in-person 2:00pm) (502) Ashrei and Uva Litzion.  Followed by Amidah for Mincha Shabbat (514).  We do say Tzidkascha.

ASKT Class of 2020 Graduation Car Parade! Sunday, June 28 starting at 9:30 am at 6841 Neil Pl - we will be saluting our graduates with a car parade! Make signs, festoon your cars, and get ready to roll on past the homes of our graduates. There will be a route which we will be sharing with everyone in a subsequent email.  Please email the shul to be a part of the parade. This will be a festive and fun way to celebrate our graduates. We hope everyone will participate either by driving in the parade or by being outside on the front lawns of their homes to show excitement for the graduates.
 
ReOpening Minyan at ASKT - Message from Rabbi Kalmar
We are continuing weekday minyanim outside starting Sunday morning June 21st and an outdoor minyan for Shabbat, June 27.   The procedures we are putting in place for all the minyanim are on the shul website. I know that there are very different opinions about what is safe and what is required for this to happen.  I am asking everyone to be tolerant and understanding of other people's points of view as we navigate this re-opening.

Shabbat Afternoon Walking Visits - We will be organizing afternoon walking visits in Glendale to our members.  Walkers will be coming by at around between 1-5pm and knocking on a door or window and then backing up to a nice safe socially distant place so you can either wave from the window or come to your door and say hello.

Great Chicago is coming back Milwaukee!! Attention Milwaukee residents, we are happy to announce Great Chicago will be coming to town this Thursday between 5-7pm for delivery. Shacharit: 6:45am – Remember to say Hallel at Shacharit

Yom Yerushalayim Program / Pre Shabbos Ruach zoom will be at 5:00 pm with Ilan Eckhardt, a dvar torah from YU-ASKT Fellow Tamar Yastrab and some amazing footage from the 6 Day War.

Following that, one should read the Special Haftorah of Machar Chodesh (tomorrow is Rosh Chodesh (Shmuel I 20:18-42)
 
Back to the Siddur – You could now say the mi-Shebeirach for the ill (442) and the mi-Shebeirach for Tzahal (444).  Remember to say the first Yekum Purkan (448) only.   Remember to say the prayers for the government and the State of Israel (450).
We now say the Birkat HaChodesh (452) for the month of Sivan.  The Molad was Friday, May 22nd 42 minutes and 13 chalokim after 11 am.  We say "Rosh Chodesh Sivan Yihiyeh Biyom Rishon, Haba Aleinu viAl Kol Yisrael LiTovah"
 
There is a widespread custom to start studying Pirkei Avot Shabbat afternoons until Rosh HaShana – this week is Chapter Six.  

Mincha: 7:55 pm (502) Ashrei and Uva Litzion.  Followed by Amidah for Mincha Shabbat (514).
  
Maariv (256). Remember to add the special insertion in the blessing of binah as part of the Amidah (268).  We say Vihi Noam (p. 594) followed by counting the Omer: 44 (284 and 286)  Aleinu (280)

Shavuot Learning Opportunities - There are many programs out there and we will be sharing some and offering other opportunities but here is one: Wednesday Night, May 27th, Yarchei Kallah with Yeshiva University. Wednesday night, May 27 Rabbi Kalmar will be giving a class at 7 pm entitled "Revelation, Suffering and the Flesh and Blood Messiah" which will be followed by some of the best speakers at Yeshiva University.  The learning will go until 12:15 am our time!

Shabbat Afternoon Walking Visits - We will be trying to organize afternoon walking visits in Glendale to our members.  Walkers will be coming by at around between 1-5pm and knocking on a door or window (with a gloved hand) and then backing up to a nice safe (10 foot or more) socially distant place so you can either wave from the window or come to your door and say hello.
