Focus on Israel
I recommend you dress up for Shabbat just like you would if you were going to Shul – the way we dress impacts how we feel and how we act.  Make sure to make this Shabbat at home special!   Instructions for Davening and preparation follow here:
 
NOTE: Kiddush Levana should be said up until the entire evening following June 11th. If need be – it can be recited the entire evening following June 12th.

Friday, June 12th
Shacharit: 6:45am
 
Mincha: Since there is no regular minyan so one can start Shabbos as early as Plag HaMincha which is at 6:56 pm  If you want to start Shabbat that early the best is to daven Mincha before 6:56 pm and start Shabbat after that.  If you want to do a late Shabbat you can light at regular time and daven mincha before sunset at 8:32 pm.
 
Candle Lighting: 8:14pm
 
Mincha - Ashrei (232) Amidah (234) and Aleinu (252)
 
Kabbalat Shabbat (308) at Home.  Make sure to dress up nice and to sing!!  Pick a nice tune or two for Lechah Dodi (316).
 
We skip Bameh Madlikin (322) and go straight to Maariv (330). (No Barchu is said)
We say the paragraph of Vayechulu (346) and then skip the next three paragraphs and say Aleinu (350) and Vayigdal (12)
 
Friday Night Meal – Make sure to sing and give divrei Torah! Shalom Aleichem (354), Aishet Chayil (358), and Kiddush (360) followed by HaMotzi.
Shabbat, June 13th – Parshat Beha’alotcha
Shacharit: daven at 9:00am (Shema should be recited before 9:01 am)
Following Shacharit – the parsha of Beha’alotcha can be read from a Chumash.
Following that, one could read the Haftorah for Beha’alotcha, Zechariah 2:14-4:7

Back to the Siddur – You could now say the mi-Shebeirach for the ill (442) and the mi-Shebeirach for Tzahal (444).  Remember to say the first Yekum Purkan (448) only.   Remember to say the prayers for the government and the State of Israel (450).
 
We say Av HaRachamim (454) and Ashrei (456) which is followed by the Mussaf Amidah (462).  Remember not to say Mashiv Haruach anymore.
 
I recommend singing Ein Keilokeinu (476), Aleinu (480), (Anim Zemirot is not recited without a minyan) Shir Shel Yom (488), and Adon Olam (12).
 
Kiddush (492) and Festive Shabbat meal (remember to sing and give divrei torah).
 
There is a widespread custom to start studying Pirkei Avot Shabbat afternoons until Rosh HaShana – this week is Chapter 3.
 
Mincha: 8:10pm (502) Ashrei and Uva Litzion.  Followed by Amidah for Mincha Shabbat (514).  We do not say Tzidkascha.
 
Maariv (256). Remember to add the special insertion in the blessing of binah as part of the Amidah (268).  We say Vihi Noam (p. 594) followed by counting the Omer – 24 (284 and 286)  Aleinu (280)
 
Havdallah (618): at 9:14pm

ReOpening Minyan at ASKT - Message from Rabbi Kalmar
We are planning on opening up weekday minyanim outside starting Sunday morning June 14th and an outdoor minyan for Shabbat, June 20th.   The procedures we are putting in place for all the minyanim are on the shul website. I know that there are very different opinions about what is safe and what is required for this to happen.  I am asking everyone to be tolerant and understanding of other people's points of view as we navigate this re-opening.

Shabbat Afternoon Walking Visits - We will be organizing afternoon walking visits in Glendale to our members.  Walkers will be coming by at around between 1-5pm and knocking on a door or window and then backing up to a nice safe socially distant place so you can either wave from the window or come to your door and say hello.
